Services we offer

A range of services are offered by accredited mobility centres including Driving, Passenger and wheelchair assessments. The assessments are to enable clients to receive unbiased advice, information and recommendations and are carried out by experts in the field of mobility impairment.

Driving Assessment

There are generally two types of driving assessment offered by each centre. If the person's health condition only results in a physical limitation then a vehicle control trial is usually appropriate. This includes an assessment for specific vehicle modifications which will assist with the control of the car.

If a person has a medical condition which affects thought processing skills then a driving ability assessment will be offered. This includes assessment of driving skills such as judgment, decision making and problem solving.

Passenger assessments

Passenger assessments may be carried out for people who are disabled and wish to travel as a passenger in a vehicle, possibly remaining in their wheelchair. Disabled Drivers wishing to access the driving seat may also be assessed.

Wheelchair and Pavement Vehicles

Some centres offer wheelchair and pavement vehicle assessments. Contact your local centre for details.

Services - Tuition and Retraining

Some centres offer driving tuition and retraining from the centres using approved driving instructors who have experience in teaching people with disabilities to drive.
